our story

The Bahamas is not a place you visit.

It is something you experience. It is something that gets into you, and once it does, it never fully leaves.

Vida Cayo began as an act of pride. A conviction that the culture we grew up inside deserved to be made into something lasting, by people from here, for anyone who feels what this place actually is.
Not the postcard. Not the cruise port. The texture of life that runs through Bay Street at six in the morning, through the cays at low tide, through every conversation that starts at a jook jook corner and turns into something that matters.
The brand is being built deliberately. One volume at a time. Each piece a small artifact of a place that is alive and worth preserving.
the living behamas

Four principles. One discipline.

These are not aspirational statements. They are operational filters. Anything that conflicts with them doesn't go out.

Principle 01

Cultural First

Every product, campaign, and communication starts with Bahamian culture, not with what tourists expect to find. Authenticity is a discipline, not a tone.

The Creative System

Vision of Nostalgia.

An ongoing collection series. Each volume celebrates a specific Bahamian place, experience, or cultural moment through considered design. A visual time capsule. This is a record of the culture, told one volume at a time.

Tino Sands

Founder · Vida Cayo

From artist to sprinter to banker to brand builder. Tino's path to founding Vida Cayo runs across disciplines that, on paper, don't connect, but in practice share a single thread: an attention to what holds up over time.

Vida Cayo is the work he was always going to do. A way of making things that puts the culture he grew up inside on its own terms, and gives it a place to live that isn't a souvenir shelf.
